This research reports the findings from survey questions on inland bathing waters included in the Beaufort Research Omnibus.

Engagement with inland bathing waters was reasonably high amongst respondents but lower than their engagement with coastal waters.

Main barriers to taking part in recreational water activities in inland waters were concerns about safety and water quality.

Generally there was a considerable level of support  for the designation of inland water sites as bathing or recreational waters.
