Item 1: Welcome and introductions
1. The Chair welcomed the members to the meeting.
2. It was agreed that opportunities to engage with political parties should be pursued through the Senedd and the Electoral Commission.
Item 2: Welsh Government Climate Change Behaviour Change
3. The group received a presentation by the Welsh Government and discussed best practice for engaging citizens and deliberative methodologies, including the benefits of joining with other engagement exercises so the same groups did not receive requests to feed into several consultations or engagement pieces concurrently.
4. The group considered establishing a network of interested practitioners and policy makers to share learning and avoid duplication.
Item 3: Senedd communications and engagement
5. Senedd Commission officials outlined the engagement and communication strategy for the 6th term of the Senedd, and the Senedd's plans for the progression of the strategy ahead of the Senedd's 7th term.
6. The Senedd’s education service and their partnership working with external organisations were summarised and the group discussed participatory and deliberative processes and how IDAG learning and recommendations could feed into the Senedd Commission’s 7th term strategy.
Item 4: Reflections on presentations
7. The group reflected on capacity building within the Welsh Government, decision maker buy-in and avenues for IDAG impact.
8. The group considered engagement beyond the groups already engaged by Welsh Government and discussed the importance of setting out what good deliberative engagement looked like, and its value.
Item 5: Work programme
9. The group discussed its draft work programme with a view to presenting the programme to the Deputy First Minister.

10. The group discussed forming sub-groups to progress the development of the draft work programme.
