James Wright CEO Wrexham Lager

James has more than 20 years’ experience in the beer, wine and spirits industry. He is an experienced director of Business Development and Strategy. He has a demonstrated history of working in the drinks industry across various territories.

James has been instrumental in the development of brands such as:

• Red Bull
• Corona Extra
• Tsingtao Beer
• Lambs Rum
• Whitley Neill Gin, and
• Crabbies Alcoholic Ginger Beer

James has worked both in the UK and internationally. He has developed high levels of expertise in sales, marketing and manufacturing. He has proven ability in the management of:

• established businesses
• mergers and acquisitions, and
• new start-ups

In 2017, James spotted the opportunity to establish the first whisky distillery in North Wales. This resulted in the creation of Aber Falls Distillery. He developed a business strategy which has resulted in an award winning portfolio of brands across all UK channels. This has now expanded into international markets.

James was educated at Sedbergh School. He achieved an Honours Degree in Landscape Architecture from Leeds Metropolitan University.

James and his family are resident in Wales where his children have grown up.
