It also looks at how safe people felt after dark, and views on their local authority services and their local councillor.
Main points
- People living in rural areas are more likely to be satisfied with their local areas (90%) than those living in urban areas (83%).
- Older people and those who volunteer are more likely to have a strong sense of community cohesion.
- Men and those who live in more affluent areas are more likely to feel safe.
- Those who feel they belong to their local area more likely to contact their local councillor.
