The First Minister has made a decision on the proposed section of motorway south of Newport. This project is not going ahead.
In 2016 we published drawings, reports and environmental assessments for the proposed project, which includes a new section of motorway south of Newport.
A year long Public Inquiry was then held to allow everyone to have their say, completing in Spring 2018.
The First Minister has decided not to proceed and has declined to make the draft Schemes and Orders which would have been needed for the M4 project to go ahead.
