The National Forest for Wales:

  • stretches the length and breadth of Wales
  • highlights, recognises, and represents excellence across different types of forestry 
  • includes all types of woodland from small community woodlands to large productive forests 
  • is made up of different woodland sites of different sizes with different focuses 
  • has sites owned and managed by different organisations and individuals 
  • creates new areas of woodland as well as restoring and maintaining Wales's unique and irreplaceable existing woodlands
  • facilitates a network, enabling woodland owners to share, learn, and collaborate 
  • helps to promote and communicate the multiple benefits of trees and woodlands
