Minister for Culture, Skills and Social Partnership agreed the appointment of a Chair and two new Board members to the Creative Wales Non Executive Board.
Creative Wales, the part of the Welsh Government responsible for supporting and growing Wales’ creative sectors, has announced three new appointments to its Non-Executive Board.
Professor Joe Yates, Vice-Chancellor of Wrexham University, has been appointed as the new Chair of the Creative Wales Non-Executive Board, while Sara Peacock, Head of Social Purpose at S4C, and Maris Latham, Senior Creative Designer at Cowshed have both been appointed as board members.
The Non-Executive Board plays an advisory role, making recommendations to Ministers and officials on the strategic direction of Creative Wales. Its remit includes providing effective leadership, scrutinising standards of public finance, monitoring performance, and advising on industry engagement and marketing strategies.

Professor Yates is Vice-Chancellor of Wrexham University and a respected leader in higher education and civic engagement. He brings extensive experience in governance and strategic transformation, championing creativity as a driver of economic and cultural growth.
Sara Peacock, Board Member
Sara Peacock leads S4C’s social purpose strategy, focusing on diversity, sustainability, and sector development. Her background spans music, publishing, and language planning, with a strong commitment to social justice and community prosperity.
Maris Latham, Board Member
Maris Latham is a Senior Creative Designer at Cowshed, with expertise in branding and campaign development for public and private sectors. She is passionate about design that delivers positive impact and mentors emerging creative talent.
