What apprenticeships are available?

Our Generalist and Digital, Data & Technology apprenticeship programmes open for applications on 17 August 2026, the advert is open for 6 weeks up until 28 September 2026.

Who can apply?

You can apply if you: 

  • will be aged 16 or over when your apprenticeship starts. 
  • will have completed, or intend to complete, any full-time education before starting the apprenticeship. 
  • meet the Civil Service nationality requirements and UK immigration rules. 

Salary and Benefits 

As a Welsh Government apprentice, you'll receive: 

  • starting salary of £27,302. 
  • membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme. 
  • 31 days annual leave, plus 11 public and privilege days. 
  • a Level 3 NVQ qualification on successful completion of the apprenticeship. 
  • an 18-month apprenticeship programme with the opportunity to work in a range of placements.

Before you apply, please have ready: 

  • contact details for two referees. 
  • examples that demonstrate your skills and experience. 
  • copies of any qualifications you currently hold (if applicable). 

What happens after I apply?

Once you have submitted your application you will be asked to complete some eligibility questions by our training provider. You will then get an e-mail at each stage of the recruitment process from sifting through to interview and being offered a role.
