7. Children who need additional support
If your child needs additional support, you could get extra help from Childcare Offer for Wales' Additional Support Grant. The Grant is not a financial payment made directly to you. It enables local authorities to further support your child to access childcare.
This grant is for children who:
- have additional learning needs
- have behavioural, emotional and social development difficulties
- have communication and interaction difficulties
- have sensory or physical difficulties
- have medical conditions
- are disabled
- have other health needs
You can apply for the Additional Support Grant after your application for the Childcare Offer for Wales has been approved.
Start your grant application by signing in to your Childcare Offer for Wales account and selecting the 'you will need to tell us' link on your dashboard.
Your local authority will contact you and your chosen childcare provider to discuss your child's additional support needs.
