Dawn Bowden, Minister for Children and Social Care
Today, I am pleased to publish a summary of responses received to the Welsh Government’s consultation on the ten-year National Strategy for Preventing and Responding to Child Sexual Abuse.
The consultation launched earlier this year and closed in October, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank individuals, stakeholders, and organisations who took the time to share their experiences, knowledge and provide valuable insights.
Overall, the feedback has been very positive and supportive of the strategy, its strategic objectives, and the priority actions identified by key stakeholders. These responses will inform the final version of the strategy and the first three-year delivery plan, both of which we intend to publish early in 2026.
The Welsh Government remains committed to preventing and responding to child sexual abuse through a long-term, evidence-based approach. This strategy will set out a clear vision for the next decade, underpinned by actions that strengthen prevention, protection, and support for children, families, and adult victim-survivors.
