Statutory framework for youth work - next steps

The Cabinet Secretary for Education has agreed that work proceeds to finalise the draft statutory framework for youth work to bring it into force by April 2026, for the allocation of £25,000 to the Council for Wales of Voluntary Youth Service core grant in 2025 to 2026 to support grassroots organisations to prepare for the new framework, and for a further £50,000 to be allocated to Education Training Standards Cymru  to expand on activity undertaken to deliver the cross-sector youth work workforce development programme in 2025 to 2026 to address some of the barriers faced by voluntary sector organisations in accessing training.

International Relations budget transfers for collaborative working

The Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care Services has agreed an increase to the minimum Agenda for Change NHS staff hourly rate to reflect the increase of the Living Wage Foundation rate to £13.45 per hour. This is a temporary increase ahead of the annual pay award for 2026 to 2027.
