Today, I am pleased to provide an update on progress in responding to the recommendations of the Affordable Housing Taskforce.
The Affordable Housing Taskforce presented a comprehensive programme of work, making 41 recommendations that underscore the complexity of expediting affordable housing delivery.
There is no single solution; rather, a range of actions is required across sectors.
In recognition of this, I drew together and chaired an implementation group with cross sector representation to ensure effective leadership and delivery of the actions, by those best placed to do so.
I welcome the way members of the group have come forward to lead on specific actions and share collective ownership and responsibility for implementing the recommendations.
This Welsh Government and our partners have overseen the highest sustained delivery of social housing in Wales in nearly two decades and delivered thousands more across other tenures too.
There is of course still more to do, and I urge the implementation group and the next Welsh Government to continue this momentum.
