Phillip Jones Member
After leaving school at 16 Phillip worked on his home farm at Lan, Carmarthenshire, having the opportunity to run and manage the farm whilst attending Pibwrlwyd Agricultural College.
Lan is a beef farm with 110 suckler cows and followers. Lan has been a HCC and Farming Connect demo farm and they frequently host farm walks for various farming groups as well as “Future Vets”, organised by the Agricultural Research Centre at Coleg Sir Gâr on behalf of the Royal Veterinary College.
In 2013, Phillip received the Farmers Weekly “Beef Farmer of the Year Award” and was awarded “Associateship of the Royal Agricultural Societies” (ARAgS) in 2017. He has also undertaken part-time lecturing at Coleg Sir Gâr and works for the “Gwaredu BVD” program.
