This report presents the results of a scoping review of place-based approaches (PBA) to community engagement and support.

This report aims to:

  • outline the theoretical rationale and empirical evidence underpinning PBAs
  • identify case studies of PBAs to community engagement and support that have been implemented in Wales
  • identify themes of facilitators and barriers across these approaches which can be used as a starting point to develop a best practice framework for the use of PBAs in Wales
