The First Minister of Wales, Carwyn Jones said:

“After waiting 58 years for our place in a major football tournament, Euro 2016 really is turning into a dream come true for Wales. Friday night’s performance was truly inspiring and goes down as one of the greatest occasions in our sporting history.

“As a nation we couldn’t be prouder of this incredible group of players, Chris Coleman and his backroom team, as well the thousands of fans who have travelled to France and have been such excellent ambassadors for Wales. The ‘Together Stronger’ message really does encapsulate the strength, spirit and foundation of this team and their fans.

“The whole country will be behind the Wales team when they face Portugal, and as Chris Coleman himself has reflected, who knows what we can achieve if we keep dreaming. Pob lwc boys, we’re with you all the way.”
