Original consultation

This consultation seeks your views on our proposals for producing a new All-Wales Travel Behaviour Code.

Consultation description

The statutory Travel Code sets out the rights and responsibilities of learners when travelling; provides advice on how to ensure a safe journey as far as is practicable and sets out a legal framework for the removal of transport from learners who are in breach of the Code. It applies to all learners aged 5-19 regardless of the mode of travel from home to school (or between schools).

Concerns have been raised regarding certain areas of the Travel Code which are not working effectively. Our aim is to work out how these can be realistically addressed and to produce a new more effective Travel Code.
