Overview
1. This paper provides an update on the work undertaken to develop a new website for the Public Sector Future Workforce Forum (PSFWF) and asks you to consider which resources and existing materials should be included in the Resource Centre.
2. A central feature of the PSFWF website is the new Resource Centre which will host a collection of useful documents designed to support and inform the wider public sector workforce. There are 2 distinct headings listed under the Resource Centre:
- Public Sector Future Workforce Forum Resources
- Public Sector Workforce Resources
3. The Resource Centre aims to bring together a dynamic collection of practical, high value resources designed to strengthen capability across the public sector. The types of resources the PSFWF aims to collate include:
- Toolkits that offer step by step methods, templates, and ready to use frameworks
- Guidance documents that translate policy into clear, actionable practice
- Training materials that build skills, confidence, and professional expertise
4. Additional resource types that would be especially valuable to the public sector could include:
- Case studies showcasing real world examples, lessons learned, and proven approaches
- Best practice standards that help teams benchmark and improve their work
- Checklists and quick reference guides for rapid decision making and operational consistency
- E learning modules for flexible, self paced development
- Webinars and recorded workshops capturing expert insights and practical demonstrations
- Process maps and workflow diagrams to visualise complex systems and improve efficiency
- Community forums or knowledge sharing spaces where practitioners can exchange ideas and solutions
- Assessment tools and maturity models to help organisations evaluate their current capability and plan improvements
- Data dashboards or evidence repositories to support informed, evidence-based decision making
Decision required
5. Following its launch, the PSFWF is asked to consider what key resources should be prioritised for inclusion in the Resource Centre. Members are also invited to identify existing materials that would have the greatest impact in supporting workforce challenges across the public sector.
