Overview

1. This paper provides a copy of the minutes from the previous meeting of the Public Sector Future Workforce Forum (PSFWF) held on the 11 November 2025 and an update on the status of actions arising.

2. There are currently 4 on-going actions. Details are provided at Annex 1 and a copy of the previous minute is provided at Annex 2.

3. The PSFWF is asked to agree the status of actions arising from the previous meeting held on the 11 November.

Annex 1: PSFWF actions arising – 11 November 2025

Agenda item 2 purpose: mission statement and principles

Action: The PSFWF Support Team to make the agreed changes to the mission statement and principles and then upload both documents to the forum’s website.

Lead: PSFWF Support Team

Update: The requested changes have been made and both the mission statement and the principles document have been uploaded to the PSFWF website.

Status: Achieved

Agenda item 3: terms of reference

Action: The PSFWF Support Team to amend the terms of reference and then arrange for these to be uploaded to the forum’s website.

Lead: PSFWF Support Team

Update: The terms of reference have been amended and uploaded to the PSFWF website.

Status: Achieved

Agenda item 4: areas of work focus

Action 1: PSFWF Support Team to seek expressions of interest from members to attend a meeting to discuss areas of focus for the forum’s work programme.

Lead: PSFWF Support Team

Update: A meeting to discuss the PSFWF’s work programme was held on the 19 January 2026. An update on discussions has been provided for this meeting under agenda item 3.

Status: Achieved

Action 2: The PSFWF to consider any options within their networks for piloting the WPC’s AI guidance and feed these back to the Support Team.

Update: No expressions of interest have been received by the PSFWF Support Team.

Agenda item 5: Research Engaged Social Partnership

Action 1: The PSFWF Support Team to contact different academic institutions to establish the knowledge network in consultation with Dr Philippa Collins.

Update: In progress, discussions underway. 

Status: On-going

Action 2: The PSFWF Support Team to arrange an in-person briefing event with knowledge network members and representatives of the forum.

Update: These are now taking place as online 1-1 discussions instead. 

Status: Superseded

Agenda item 6: Website and Resource Centre

Action 1: The PSFWF Support Team to upload all the WPC’s previous agreements and reports to the forum’s new website.

Lead: PSFWF Support Team

Update: All the previous agreements and reports of the WPC have been uploaded to the PSFWF website.

Status: Achieved

Action 2: Members of the forum to consider whether any documents need to be removed from the site in due course. Anything selected would need to be agreed by the PSFWF.

Update: This is a longer term action for PSFWF members to consider as the forum progresses and following the upload captured in the previous action.

Agenda item 7: Communications

Action 1: Dom Houlihan to discuss with Academi Wales how they could support messaging and best practice through the public sector and provide an update to the PSFWF.

Lead: Dom Houlihan

Update: PSFWF officials have met with Academi Wales to discuss areas where they can work together effectively, and where each could promote the work of the other team where relevant. They will be continuing these discussions as Academi Wales develops its delivery plans for the coming year.
