This research looks at the building safety workforce for residential buildings during the occupation phase, specifically on inspection and enforcement.

This research outlines the current position of the building safety workforce within Wales; the report is focused on inspection and enforcement in residential buildings during the occupation phase. Predominantly, the report focuses on the Welsh local authority workforce.

The research findings relate to the following themes:

  • The workforce, ways of working, skills and resourcing, workload pressures, recruitment and retention.
  • The report also includes considerations for next steps to support the Building Safety Reform programme.
