A review of the VAWDASV data landscape in Wales based on existing data and evidence gathered from stakeholders.

Alma Economics Ltd. was appointed by the Welsh Government to undertake a review of the Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (VAWDASV) data landscape in Wales across key areas of interest, aligned to the core aims of the VAWDASV Strategy 2022-2026 and the 6 Workstream areas of the Blueprint.

The research was undertaken across 2 phases.

  • Phase 1 included an in-depth review of key Welsh legislation and existing evidence, a series of semi-structured scoping interviews with key stakeholders and a Call for Evidence disseminated to the sector.
  • Phase 2 focused on analysing the evidence gathered to identify data gaps.

Findings are synthesised and organised around the 6 Blueprint workstreams, enabling a structured mapping of data strengths and weaknesses across the VAWDASV landscape. A series of recommendations are presented aimed at improving the accessibility, quality, and coherence of VAWDASV data in Wales.
