Agriculture and farm woodland

Keeping and breeding livestock using land for horticulture, farming arable crops and dairy farming. Using land as grazing land and as farm woodland or for agroforestry. Includes controlled environment agriculture, growing plants for sale or for sale of part of the plant such as producing seeds. Maintaining land in state that makes it suitable for the activities above. 

Flood management

Flood management encompasses a range of strategies to control or mitigate floodwaters, aiming to either prevent floods from occurring or minimize their impact when they do. 

Forestry

Production of timber and other wood fibre, and the provision of recreation and tourism assets within woodland.

Marine and aquaculture

Operating or undertaking activities wholly or partially within the marine environment and/or relying wholly or partially on the marine environment for its continued purpose and existence. Catching, operating vessels for catching or processing aquaculture products from marine and freshwater environments. Public and private sectors that undertake research, innovation and support the economic development of the supply chain. 

Rural development

Rural development in Wales involves a range of initiatives aimed at supporting the agricultural sector, enhancing the environment, and fostering economic and community growth in rural areas.
