School based scheme that offers healthy food, nutrition education and physical activities to learners in disadvantaged areas during the school summer holidays.
Our School Holiday Enrichment Programme (SHEP), under the branding ‘Food and Fun’, is a school-based scheme that provides healthy meals, food and nutrition education, physical activity and enrichment sessions to learners in areas of socio-economic disadvantage during the school summer holidays. It is administered by the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA).
In 2026 to 2027, we are providing £5.85 million to support SHEP.
