Consultation description

We are seeking views on the decapitalisation rates to be adopted for the 2023 non-domestic rates revaluation in Wales.

The decapitalisation rate is a percentage figure used to convert the capital value of a property into an annual rental value. 

We are consulting on:

  • whether the decapitalisation rates should be prescribed in legislation
  • how many rates should be prescribed
  • how the rate or rates should be calculated
  • the approach to setting decapitalisation rates in the future.
