Applicants can request pre-application services from planning authorities by using this form: Significant infrastructure projects (SIP): request pre-application services from planning authorities

You can request advice about:

  • the relevant planning history of the proposed development site
  • details of any potential statement of common ground
  • local issues relating to the proposed development site, including potential mitigation
  • the local policy framework as far as is relevant to the proposed development, and
  • advice on any pre-application consultation that may be carried out. This includes about any person who may be consulted.

Send any queries about this service to the planning authority directly. The planning authority may offer services outside of the statutory process for SIP.
