Nominated for Young person award

Cian Evans, a remarkable 11-year-old from Pontardawe, has shown extraordinary resilience and compassion in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

At the age of 2, Cian survived a devastating car accident on the M4 that claimed the lives of his mother, Rebecca, and unborn sister, Cari. Despite suffering severe injuries and enduring multiple surgeries, Cian has transformed his pain into a powerful drive to help others. He continues to see specialists for ongoing treatment but remains undeterred in his mission to support those in need. Cian recently completed the Welsh Three Peaks challenge, raising over £10,000 for Harrys Fund, a counselling service supporting children and families facing trauma. Additionally, he raised £2,700 for the Welsh Air Ambulance by undertaking the Walk 100km Virtual Challenge in April 2023. Cian’s unwavering determination, selflessness, and fundraising efforts have provided vital lifelines for others, making him an outstanding role model and a truly deserving nominee for a St David Award in the Young Person category.
