Taith provides funding to enable education staff and learners to spend time abroad as part of their studies. It also brings learners and educators from around the world to Wales.

The multi-year programme, with Welsh Government funding of £65 million, launched in 2022 and offers life-changing opportunities to travel and learn for learners and staff in every part of Wales, and in every type of education:

  • Adult education.
  • Further and vocational education.
  • Higher education.
  • Schools.
  • Youth work.

Education providers, including youth work, are eligible to apply for funding. Interested participants should speak with their education provider in the first instance.

Taith also brings students and educators from around the world to Wales, to help enrich our education settings and bring even greater diversity and culture to our classrooms and campuses.

Taith has allocated over £10m to Universities Wales to deliver the third phase of Global Wales (the Global Wales III project), which will run until 2026. The Global Wales Partnership provides a strategic, collaborative approach to international Further and Higher Education in Wales. The aims of the Global Wales III project include building international partnerships and increasing student numbers from 4 priority markets: Europe, India, North America and Vietnam. To find out more about Global Wales, visit the Universities Wales website.
