Original consultation

We want your views on draft Welsh Language Standards Regulations for Registered Social Landlords and on a proposal to add Community Housing Cymru to the Welsh Language Standards (No.2) Regulations.

Consultation description

We are consulting on draft Regulations to make Welsh language standards specifically applicable for Registered Social Landlords as providers of social housing in Wales, and on a proposal to add Community Housing Cymru to the Welsh Language Standards (No.2) Regulations.

These proposals aim to:

  • provide clarity to these bodies and those who deal with these bodies around what is required to be provided in Welsh
  • increase the use people make of Welsh language services
  • improve the services people can expect to receive from bodies in Welsh

Some minor inconsistencies between the English and Welsh versions of the draft Regulations were identified after publication. This has since been corrected. This has been assessed and judged unlikely to have materially affected responses. A clarification has been issued via representative networks and added to this consultation webpage for transparency.
