Jim Scopes Non-Executive Member
Jim Scopes has served as a Non-Executive Member of our board since January 2021.
Jim has over 30 years’ experience in the public and private sectors. He's worked as a management consultant and civil servant.
He’s worked at senior levels in UK government in a wide variety of roles. These include strategy development, policy implementation, change management, and programme / project management.
Jim was a partner at PA Consulting working with a range of public sector clients. These included:
- Department for Work and Pensions
- Environment Agency
- Ministry of Defence
He then re-joined the civil service as Strategy Director at HM Revenue and Customs. Here Jim established the new strategy unit. He also developed the first corporate strategy for the new department.
Most recently, Jim has been working on the Marine Energy Programme for the Welsh Government. They've been looking at how tidal, wave and floating offshore wind resources might be used to deliver net-zero and regeneration. They've also been looking at the impact of associated jobs and economic growth.
Jim has led organisational change programmes. He's developed and delivered assurance approaches for projects and programmes. He's also designed and implemented governance and associated reporting mechanisms.
