As we move into our second year of the COVID-19 pandemic, our Serving Armed Forces and veterans have continued to provide invaluable support and expertise to communities across the country. We are grateful for their ongoing support, which demonstrates the valuable role they play in our communities. Armed Forces week provides us with the platform and opportunity to recognise and reflect on the considerable part they have played in helping fight the COVID-19 pandemic and keeping our communities safe. They rightly deserve our gratitude and appreciation.

As a Government, we remain firmly committed to providing targeted services and support that meet the needs of this important community. In September of last year, I laid our second Armed Forces Covenant Annual Report before the Senedd. Work has continued apace on this important agenda and we continue to make progress on initiatives that have provided practical, targeted support to our Serving and ex-Service families.

Our Armed Forces Expert Group and our other partners have once again played an important role in ensuring we deliver the right services and support for those who need it, and I am grateful for the progress made, and the considerable efforts of the organisations and individuals involved.

The Welsh Government will continue to work in collaboration with The Armed Forces Expert Group and other key partners to deliver the support our Armed Forces community so require and so richly deserve.
