Jeremy Miles MS, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
I am pleased to announce the successful development of revised quality standards.
The new Wales Audiology Quality Standards and Framework for Delivery are underpinned by the Future Approach for Audiology Services which was launched in December. They bring together standards from all audiology pathways and include an audit process and audit tools designed in collaboration with stakeholders, including audiologists, the third sector and service users.
They will support the delivery of reformed audiology services as we move more care into local communities and improve access for more people to hearing care services.
Wales is a UK leader in reforming audiology care and services, as we train and empower practitioners to work at the top of their licence and skills. Our approach is rooted in prudent healthcare principles and reflects a patient-centred ethos, which ensures timely, effective, and equitable care.
We will continue to work in collaboration to build a progressive, inclusive, and clinically robust system which meets the needs of our population through our Community by Design approach.
