I am pleased to announce Mudiad Meithrin as the successful applicant for the three-year Welsh medium childcare qualification grant Programme 2026-2029.

Mudiad Meithrin’s Cam wrth Gam National Training Programme will play an important role in supporting and strengthening the childcare workforce in delivering Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications in Childcare, Play, Learning and Development across Wales. The Programme will provide childcare practitioners with high‑quality training delivered entirely through the medium of Welsh, helping children access early years provision in their first language. The qualifications Programme supports our national ambition of increasing the number of Welsh speakers by expanding the availability of skilled, confident Welsh-speaking childcare staff across Wales.

Mudiad Meithrin has a long-standing track record in promoting and supporting Welsh‑medium early years provision. Their continued delivery of the qualifications programme will help maintain a clear pathway for those wishing to work in the sector, bolster workforce capacity, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of Welsh‑medium childcare settings.
