I would like to inform Assembly Members that a consultation document on Multi-Agency Collaboration in respect of Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence has been published on the Welsh Government website.

The consultation relates to draft statutory guidance to be issued under section 15 of the Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act 2015 (‘the Act’).

The draft guidance outlines specific requirements on relevant authorities (as defined in section 14 of the Act) in relation to multi-agency collaboration. It also outlines the value of multi-agency collaboration in relation to violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence and the key components necessary for effective partnerships at each of three levels; the strategic partnership, the operational partnership and multi-agency fora.

The consultation will run for 12 weeks until 17 December 2015. I am keen to hear the views of stakeholders and will consider these carefully prior to laying the guidance before the Assembly, in accordance with section 15 of the Act.
