The Procurement Subgroup of the Social Partnership Council (SPC) is being established under Section 8 of the Social Partnership and Public Procurement (Wales) Act 2023.  Its primary purpose will be to support the SPC in fulfilling its statutory duties by providing expert advice to both the SPC and the Welsh Ministers on matters relating to socially responsible procurement.

The subgroup is to be co-chaired by two existing SPC members: Councillor Anthony Hunt (employer representative) and Ruth Brady (worker representative).  These co-chairs will also sit on the assessment panel responsible for selecting subgroup members.

Anyone interested in putting their names forward to be a member of the subgroup should consider and respond to the Expressions of Interest process and the person specification and candidate criteria:

This statement is being issued during recess to keep Members informed.  Should Members wish me to make a further statement or to answer questions on this when the Senedd returns I would be happy to do so.
