Mark Drakeford MS, Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Welsh Language
Today, I have tabled the Welsh Government’s Final Budget for 2026-27. The Final Budget builds on the spending plans set out in the Draft Budget 2026-27 tabled on 14 October (outline) and 3 November 2025 (detail).
The Final Budget provides £27.5bn for people, public services and businesses across Wales. This is £1.2bn more than in 2025-26 and £400m more than at the Draft Budget.
This includes £300m of funding for local government and the NHS, secured through the budget agreement between the Welsh Government and Plaid Cymru. This provides certainty and stability for public services, while ensuring the next Welsh Government has the resources is needs to deliver its priorities.
The Final Budget documents are available in Welsh and English on the Welsh Government’s website and include:
- The Annual Budget Motion
- The Final Budget Report
- The Final Budget Explainer
- Final Main Expenditure Group and Budget Expenditure Line Tables
- Tables Supporting the Final Budget
- The Strategic Integrated Impact Assessment
- Welsh Rates of Income Tax Ready Reckoner
- Wales Infrastructure Investment Strategy: Project Pipeline
The Office for Budget Responsibility has also updated their independent assessment of our tax proposals – Welsh Taxes Outlook, January 2026 update. A link to this document is provided alongside the Budget Documentation.
The Final Budget debate and vote will take place in the Senedd on 27 January.
