Today, the Prohibition of Greyhound Racing (Wales) Bill and its accompanying Explanatory Memorandum have been laid before the Senedd.
The Bill seeks to prohibit greyhound racing in Wales.
In February, I announced the decision to move forward with a ban on greyhound racing. This Bill gives effect to that decision.
The Bill reflects the Welsh Government’s commitment to animal welfare and follows careful consideration of the evidence and stakeholder views, including responses to a public consultation held in 2023/24.
