As part of ongoing preparations for the Senedd election, and in advance of the various elections scheduled to take place across the United Kingdom on 6 May, I have today issued a joint statement with my counterparts in the UK Government and the Scottish Government.

All three Governments have been working with partners on extensive preparations to allow polls to take place in a way that minimises the risk of spreading the coronavirus but allows democratic participation.

In addition, it is crucial that voters are still able to have their say, despite the pandemic, and therefore we have provided information to electors on the alternative ways in which they can vote if they are unable, or do not wish, to vote in person.
