Today, I am publishing an updated Ministerial Responsibilities document, which sets out some small changes to the Ministerial portfolios.

We have a very ambitious transport reform programme ahead of us and a large body of work to be done in this area over the coming months. The Deputy Minister for Climate Change will therefore focus on transport for the time being.

Some responsibilities from the climate change portfolio will be transferred to other Ministers.

The Minister for Rural Affairs, North Wales and Trefnydd will take responsibility for local environment quality; the protection and management of wildlife; allotments and urban green infrastructure; community green spaces; access to the countryside, coast and rights of way; areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the creation of a new national park in the Clwydian range in addition to her existing responsibilities.

Responsibility for digital policy and digital connectivity will transfer to the Minister for Economy’s portfolio.

A copy of the updated Ministerial Responsibilities document is attached.
