I am delighted to welcome the Prime Minister’s announcement that next year’s Nato Summit will take place at the Celtic Manor in Newport.  The Celtic Manor is a magnificent facility which proved its worth hosting the Ryder Cup in 2010.

Dozens of Heads of Government will attend the Nato Summit.  Obviously these will include the Heads from Nato’s Member States in Europe and North America but also, I understand, delegates from many countries beyond Nato’s borders.

This is a brilliant chance to showcase Wales.  I have agreed with the Prime Minister at our meeting today that we will work closely together in planning around the Summit to ensure that the opportunity to promote Wales as a whole is fully maximised.
