Marking International Migrants Day, I am pleased to publish this year’s Annual Progress Update on the Migrant Integration Framework for Wales. This is a timely opportunity to recognise and celebrate the many ways migrant communities enrich and strengthen life in Wales.

Over the past year we have strengthened the evidence base that underpins the Framework, expanded our understanding of migrant experiences, and taken important steps to improve the quality and consistency of data across key policy areas.

This work reflects our continuing commitment to an anti-racist Wales and our vision of Wales as a Nation of Sanctuary; a place where people seeking safety and new opportunities are welcomed, supported and able to flourish. Migrants make an enormous contribution to our communities, public services and economy, and this progress helps ensure that our policies better recognise, reflect and support that contribution.

We will carry this momentum into 2026, with a focus on clearer and more accessible data, strengthened collaboration with partners and experts by experience, and further work to enhance the evidence that supports integration across Wales.

The Annual Progress Update, along with future updates, is available on our dedicated webpage: Migrant Integration Framework: progress update 2025 | GOV.WALES
