I am pleased to announce the launch of a public consultation on proposals to amend parts of the Land Transaction Tax and Anti-avoidance of Devolved Taxes (Wales) Act 2017 (LTTA) which govern some land transaction tax reliefs. The consultation focuses on those reliefs relating to multiple-dwelling transactions, and purchases of properties intended for social housing. I encourage all those with an interest to respond to the consultation. The consultation closes on 19 May 2024. After the consultation closes, I will give due consideration to all the responses and issue a report on the consultation.

This statement is being issued during recess in order to keep members informed. Should members wish me to make a further statement or to answer questions on this when the Senedd returns I would be happy to do so.
