Lynne Neagle, Cabinet Secretary for Education
I am dedicated to supporting the ambitions of all our learners in Wales. Every young person should have access to the opportunities which allow them to unlock their intellectual curiosity and fulfil their capabilities. This includes supporting our highest achieving learners through the Seren Academy.
Today, I am pleased to announce a new and improved delivery model for the Seren Academy. This revised approach builds on what we have learnt over the first ten years of Seren’s existence and is rooted in the best practice delivered by our hubs. It will feature a delivery team consisting of six full-time delivery managers working on a regional footprint. Additionally, we will develop a comprehensive support package for schools to provide the time and space for teachers to support their Seren learners, providing funding, guidance, resources and support from their dedicated delivery manager.
This new model will provide a more consistent offer for Seren learners across Wales to access the opportunities which are right for them, including the fantastic provision at our Welsh universities.
I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to Seren's achievements thus far. I look forward to maintaining and strengthening our partnerships with local authorities, universities, schools, and colleges in supporting our Seren learners to fulfil their potential.
