Last autumn we undertook to keep Members of the Senedd informed of the progress of the Independent Commission on the Constitutional Future of Wales. The First Minister, the Leader of Plaid Cymru and I recently met the Co-Chairs of the Commission to receive an update on their work. In the spirit of openness we are sharing a copy of the progress report provided by the Co-Chairs Independent Commission on the Constitutional Future of Wales: progress report

The Commission launched their call for evidence on 31 March in order to gather information to inform their work. The Commission is also developing a fuller engagement strategy to meet our request for them to develop a programme of inclusive engagement with civic society and the Welsh public to stimulate a national conversation.

The Chairs indicated the Commission is on course to complete their interim report by the end of the year.

We will provide members with a further update before the summer recess.
