In March 2022 I published our Children and Young People’s Plan. This set out how the Welsh Government is working to meet its commitment to Wales’ children and young people.

Today, I am pleased to publish an update to the Children and Young People’s Plan, which highlights the progress we have made across a range of areas to help improve life for all children and young people in Wales. It also looks ahead to what we will be doing next.

With this year marking the 100th anniversary since the adoption of the Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child, publishing this update reiterates our ongoing commitment to supporting all children in Wales to realise and exercise their rights.

I would like to thank the members of Young Wales and the Children’s Rights Advisory Group who helped to produce this update

There is still a lot of work to do, and I look forward to seeing the progress we make during the next period towards our ambition to make Wales a wonderful place to grow up, live and to work, now and in the future.
