I am pleased to announce that a further round of the Enterprise Zones Business Rates Scheme will be opened for businesses in Wales in 2015/16.
Building on the success of the Scheme to date, this round will ensure that businesses currently located in the Zones can continue to benefit from this important support. It will also assist businesses wishing to locate in the Zones.

Since 2012, the Enterprise Zone Business Rates Scheme has provided business rates support across all Enterprise Zones in Wales. The Scheme has helped economic growth and job creation in Wales, supporting 136 businesses with over £8 million of funding. This new round ensures that our Enterprise Zones continue to offer a competitive package of support.

I have previously announced a number of other business rates measures to support jobs and growth, including an extension to the Small Business Rates Relief Scheme for a further year, an extended and enhanced Wales Retail Relief Scheme, and a cap to the business rates multiplier at 2% in 2015-16. Together, these measures are reducing business rates bills for ratepayers right across Wales.

Further information on the application process will be made available on line by visiting the Enterprise Zone website www.enterprisezones.wales.gov.uk.
