Coastal Risk Management Programme and future project pipeline stakeholder engagement: privacy notice

The Coastal Risk Management Programme (CRMP) stakeholder engagement survey has been designed to support learning and continuous improvement as the current) CRMP comes to an end, and to help inform thinking on any potential future programme. In order to participate in the survey the Welsh Government will need to process some personal data about you. Your participation in the survey is not mandatory but your professional views representing a Risk Management Authority will be very useful in future planning.

In order to distribute the survey and effectively collate responses we, the Welsh Government, will process your name, work email and work contact details, job title, and the organisation you work for.

The Welsh Government is the data controller for any personal information collected through this survey and related policy engagement work. 

We will use your personal information to administer the survey and collate responses and findings internally within Welsh Government. We will not publish or share any personal data related to this survey and, although there are no plans to publish survey responses, if we do so, no personal information will be included.  Your responses to the survey will help explore the remit and scope of a potential future programme, including possible future project pipelines. 

This work is being carried out by the Welsh Government’s Flood Implementation Team as part of our public task (under Article 6(1)(e) UK GDPR) specific to Section 16 (2) of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 states 'The Welsh Ministers may make grants in respect of expenditure incurred or expected to be incurred in connection with flood or coastal erosion risk management in Wales’.

We will retain your data for 10 years, in line with Welsh Government retention policies for this category of policy development activity.

Under the UK GDPR you have the following rights:

• To access a copy of your own data;
• For us to rectify inaccuracies in that data;
• To object to or restrict processing (in certain circumstances);
• For your data to be ‘erased’ (in certain circumstances); and
• To lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) who is our independent regulator for data protection.
