The report sets out the findings from the first stage of the evaluation of the Communities for Work (CFW) and Communities for Work Plus Programmes (CFW+), since their inception in 2015 and 2018 respectively.

There was a misrepresentation of a table in the previous version of this report. When the percentage of CfW and CFW+ participants with different characteristics entering employment were compared alongside each other in a table. The period covered by the analysis of CfW+ data (i.e., April 2021 to September 2022) was a period in which the proportion of participants entering employment was high, compared to other periods. Therefore, data based upon this period is not likely to be representative of the proportion of participants with different characteristics entering employment over the lifetime of the programme to date (i.e., April 2018 to February 2023). In this updated report the figures for CFW and CFW+ are represented in different tables as they represent different periods of time.

This evaluation report is an update to the previous process evaluation and theory of change of Communities for Work, incorporating, both CFW and CFW+ programmes. It also includes a review of progress against targets.
