Discretionary assistance fund (DAF)
A grant to help pay for essential costs, such as food, gas, electricity, heating oil or emergency travel if you:
- are experiencing extreme financial hardship
- have lost your job
- have applied for benefits and are waiting for your first payment
Heating and hot water failure
If you are currently without heating or hot water, you may be able to receive urgent help through the crisis route for the Welsh Government Nest scheme. This help is designed to help households facing an immediate risk to their health and wellbeing due to a lack of essential heating or hot water.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, help may include:
- emergency repairs to boilers or electric storage heaters to restore heating or hot water as quickly as possible
- replacement of boiler or electric storage heaters to ensure you have a safe and reliable heating system
