The 2022-based projections estimate the number of households and assume that past trends in births, deaths, and migration continue.
This is the latest release in the series: Subnational household projections
The release provides statistics on the future possible number of households and their composition for local authorities in Wales. These projections supersede the previous 2018-based projections.
These local authority household projections are based on 2022-based local authority population projections as well as the Office for National Statistics’s (ONS) 2001, 2011 and 2021 Census.
Projections are available on StatsWales for the 25-year period, from mid-2022 to mid-2047. However, this release focusses on the first 10 years of the projection period as projections tend to become increasingly uncertain in the longer-term, as much may change over that timescale.
