Main points
- 20,680 staff were directly employed by social services departments, comprising 11,323 (55%) part-time staff and 9,357 (45%) full-time staff.
- There were 15,707 whole-time equivalent directly employed staff.
- 12,727 (77%) of relevant staff held a required or recommended occupational qualification.
- 3,526 (17%) of staff were Welsh speaking.
