Standard 1: Information [about the setting]
Child’s Voice: I can easily find out what the place is like, so I know it’s somewhere I want to go to and play.
Well-being Outcome: Parents and children have access to all the information they need to make an informed choice about the open access play provision that is available.
The registered person is responsible for ensuring that:
1.1 A Statement of Purpose has been compiled as set out in the Regulations. Sufficient information is available to prospective parents and children about the service in an electronic or paper version in order for them to make an informed decision about the service.
1.2 The Statement of Purpose and additional information includes:
- Aims and objectives of the service
- Numbers, ages and sex of children for whom care is to be provided
- Range of needs of relevant children to be met
- Opening hours, staffing and contact information
- Full details of the provision, including:
- Facilities available
- Services offered
- Activities offered
- Language(s) used
- Terms and conditions upon which care is provided
- Details of arrangements to review the Statement of Purpose and inform CIW of changes to the service within 28 days before changes take effect, where possible.
- Arrangements for dealing with complaints and concerns
- Arrangements for dealing with any emergency
1.3 Parents are made aware that they can read the most recent inspection report online at Care Inspectorate Wales.

Providers should note that neither list is exhaustive, and that providers must have regard to all Standards relevant to their service and the circumstances concerned.
